Fall is in the Air - Things to Do This Weekend

Don't you just love fall? The air is crisp and cool after a long hot summer. Beginning this weekend, the activities available vary in diversity and interest.

First on the list, is Apple Fest in Long Grove beginning tomorrow, Friday, September 30, 2011 and running until Sunday, October 2, 2011. If you are a fan of apples, here is the chance to taste apple pies and apple cider donuts to hot apple cider, caramel apple lattes, apple martinis, and more! You will be able to purchase just-picked apples or just enjoy the outdoor ambiance and entertainment. For more information, check out Long Grove Online.

Beginning Saturday, October 1, 2011, Fear City Chicago opens in Morton Grove. Not for the faint of heart, this new experience will usher in a new era of haunted house attraction. Located at 8240 N. Austin Avenue, Fear City Chicago will be open weekends until the week before Halloween when it will open daily. For more information, check out Fear City Chicago.

Another Halloween inspired activity is the Theatre-Hikes at the Morton Arboretum every weekend in October and Columbus Day. Night of the Living Dead (All performances at 3 p.m.) is a campy horror classic where zombies rise from their graves and take over the world. For more information on this fun-filled Hike, check out the Morton Arboretum's Theatre-Hikes.
